Whorehouse Piano Well I rock up to work, and I wipe off the seat, The pay isn’t so bad, but it’s the people I meet. You come to see the ladies, and got to wait a little time? I play the whorehouse piano, every night. The customer all know me, by my first name, Although I gave them a fake one, to them it’s all the same. The middle C needs tuning, but tonight it sounds alright, I play the whorehouse piano, every night. I used to play in bands, and I used to write songs But that all dried up one day, when people stopped singing along. But round here, they love me, And tonight I sound alright, I play the Whorehouse piano every night. The red light shines on, any time of day. You come in on your way home from work, Or you come on the way. I’ll be here playing my tunes from five, Though I’ve tried to leave this place, a thousand times. But it keeps on calling, calling me back here again, The piano in the lobby is my only friend. And when I’m not playing my tunes for you, When I finish my shift, I’m a customer too. Well I rock up to work, and I wipe off the seat, The pay ain’t so bad, but it’s the people I meet. You come to see the ladies, and got to wait a little time? I play the whorehouse piano, in the lobby, by the pool table and bar, and the cigarette machine… Until the day that I die.

Drink To You 05:58
Drink to you You say you've had your problems, well Ive had mine too. We both new there was some shit we had to do. You ran away form yours like the little girl you are. I faced mine head on, got knocked down, hit real hard. So Brave of You to leave it all behind. So strong of you to just go change your mind. So jealous of you for starting out again. So sad i'll never see your face again. Well if you think ill ever forget about you, your wrong. When your the inspiration for every god damn song And when the sun goes down I'll see your face in the sky tonight. Go on and leave us now, you dont wanna miss you flight. So Brave of You to leave it all behind. So strong of you to just go change your mind. So jealous of you for starting out again. So sad i'll never see your face again. Well every time you think of me I hope your stomach aches And every time you drink your tea I hope your cup it breaks and every time you remember us I hope you miss your bus and every time you drink to me I hope you drink too much Cos every time I remember you my fire it wont light and everytime I call your name A dog barks in the night And everytime I drink to you I drink way too much Yes every time I drink to you I end up throwing up. I drink way too much.

Ballad of a Tinman By Cam Ewart I’m an emotional wreck, I cry at the drop of rain. I know I’m hollow inside this skin of tin, but I love you all the same. And I’ll follow you today, wherever you need to go, Through poppy fields we’ll go til you get home Through poppy fields we’ll go til you get home Dorothy, lay your head where my heart should be I know I love you, though you don’t love me, but I understand. Dorothy, lay your head where my heart should be, And forever I will be your tinman. The road is long and paved of solid gold. But gold it don’t mean nothing if you never get old. And I know you’ll leave me someday, cos they all do. But I’m glad I met this little girl in blue. So glad I met this little girl in blue. Dorothy, lay your head where my heart should be I know I love you, though you don’t love me, but I understand. Dorothy, lay your head where my heart should be, And forever I will be your tinman. I wish I had you to myself. Lets ditch the scaredy cat and the old straw bag, and go on by ourselves. But you girls are all the same, Falling for the guy without a brain, again and again, And I don’t know how much more of this I can take. Dorothy, lay your head where my heart should be I know I love you, though you don’t love me, but I understand. Dorothy, lay your head where my heart should be, And forever I will be your tinman.

about

This is the demo that kicked it off for GTMW. After receiving an offer of some free recording time the band managed to get three tracks down, which you can hear on this demo.

Dubbed "The Moonshine Demo" as all original copies came with a free bottle of cheap wine, the demo was made for a measly $150 plus a six pack of beer. (2 of which Cam drank.)

Ghost Towns of the Midwest Melbourne, Australia

“Ghost Towns of the Midwest. A great band with a pretty good taste in wine. Stephen Walker, (The Ghost) - 102.7RRRFM

Formed in Melbourne Australia around 2013, Ghost Towns of the Midwest have honed their own brand of Alt-Country/Americana Rock n Roll.

They call it "Melbournicana".
